Social Media Bootcamp: A Comprehensive Guide

After a a six hour boot camp session in Springfield, MO with SocialIRL, I thought it was a shame to not share the 100+ slides available to attendees. We took an in-depth look at the role of social media in public relations. You are welcome to download the slides as a resource to help you in your career.

Each time I run a boot camp I update the slides to accommodate all of new things I learn from attendees. What do you wish someone would have told you? Share with me in the comments so I can incorporate for the next one (and, of course, I’ll share the information right here).

Social media marketing is essential to any business and is generally referred to as the most important aspect of any business strategy. it seems that many companies spend much more money to hire reputed agencies to handle the marketing of their business.

Certain popular websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube which have more than five million visitors everyday are considered to be an important hub for marketing. Promoting the business using these sites is a very attractive business proposition since they offer a huge amount of steady traffic everyday.

Sara, first of all very insight presentation, I do have one doubt though that I would love for you to answer. Why do you suggest in your one slide, not to repurpose press releases as blog posts? Would love to hear about that from you.
